Melissa Schwarz

Hi, I’m Melissa. As a Product Manager at Equal Eats, I’m proud to play a key role in creating our allergy and dietary cards. I carefully craft each card to ensure every detail is accurate and clearly communicated. I understand how vital this information is, and I’m honored to support the food allergy and free-from communities by helping to make eating away from home safer and more inclusive.

Our family has been managing multiple food allergies for 15 years. We began this journey when our son was diagnosed with food allergies at the age of 3. As you all know, we were very scared and nervous about how we could keep our son safe. We learned very quickly how to navigate this process of reading every ingredient on every product brought into our home.

Through the years, I have become very passionate about the food allergy community. I connected with Kyle Dine years ago when my son was starting school. The schools in our area were not very well versed on managing food allergies. Kyle came to educate the school community and I worked diligently to advocate for the safety of the children with food allergies. Policies and procedures were finally put into place after lots of meetings with school board members!

I have connected with several other food allergy families over the years and have formed strong bonds. These bonds are incredibly important as we all navigate life with food allergies. I was incredibly honored to be offered a job with Equal Eats and am thrilled to continue working with the food allergy community!

We have traveled all over the US, along with traveling to Canada and Puerto Rico. We plan to continue traveling to other countries feeling secure that our Equal Eats cards will help to provide safe eating experiences.

I love all types of music. We enjoy going to concerts as a family. Over the past few years, we have been having a blast attending local concerts that our son’s band performs in!
