Lisa Bolton
Hi, I’m Lisa and I am the COO and Product Manager for Equal Eats. On a daily basis I’m responsible for making and sending your plastic and digital cards to you across the globe with the exception of The USA. I am also responsible for all things operational, which includes a bit of everything with the focus being on making sure things run smoothly and we provide the best possible customer experience we can.
At Equal Eats accuracy is our priority, the whole team lives with dietary restrictions so we totally get the importance of this. Whilst we are a human run, bespoke business, we do everything we can to ensure accuracy, from our rigorous three tier translation process to the many checks we go through during the process of designing, printing and shipping your personal translation and ID cards.

My free from journey began in 2009, when my son, aged 6 months, developed severe eczema and was diagnosed with anaphylaxis to dairy and egg and a dustmite allergy. A severe asthma diagnosis followed in 2013 along with hayfever and oral allergy syndrome. In 2020 my son was also diagnosed with soya triggered EOE and my daughter was diagnosed with coeliac disease at the same time, aged 14. So as a family we have been learning to live with dietary restrictions for nearly 17 years.
In the early days we knew nothing about, or anybody with food allergies and we had limited access to information and free from products. In 2018 I started my instagram account @allergyunlimited in the hope of supporting other families on their allergy journeys by sharing our adapted recipes and experiences. But it became so much more than this. I made connections with and gained support and information from amazing people in the free from community. With some of my biggest achievements being raising awareness through television, newspaper and podcast appearances and ultimately finding my dream job working within the allergy and free from community with Equal Eats.
As my children have grown up and my work life has become busier, I am no longer as active on Instagram but my DM’s are always open. I am passionate about supporting individuals living with dietary restrictions, and organisations and businesses who are advocating for and making a difference to the lives of those with these restrictions. One of my most favourite parts of my job is exhibiting at The Free From Show and The Free From Festival, where I can continue to meet and help others and showcase our amazing products.

Prior to having children, I drove to Turkey and back in a camper van through 11 different countries and also backpacked across India, Nepal, Hong Kong, Thailand, Indonesia, Singapore, Mexico, Colombia and USA so travel is definitely in my blood!
My main goal has always been for my children to live as full lives as possible without feeling limited by their dietary restrictions. Wherever possible we have adapted and found a way. We love to holiday, having been to France, Spain and Italy, eat out and go to festivals. We have also recently bought a camper van so there will be many more adventures in that too!

This was our first ever meal out as a family and it was on holiday in France.
