Kyle - traveling with multiple food allergies

I'm planning to travel to Canada, Hungary, Bosnia and Croatia in the Spring and Summer of this year. First up, I have a ski holiday planned in Bosnia. I'm so excited to go here as this is where the Sarejevo 1984 Olympics were held. I can't wait to go to Hungary with my friends. We are planning to enjoy the immaculate spas and baths! I’m also going to Croatia with my family and we will spend some time relaxing by the seaside. I spend every summer in Canada with my family and always make time to play golf. I love using the Equal Eats app and will be sure to have it all setup the day before I depart. This is how I make sure my cards are saved for possible offline usage. To plan my trips, I use TripAdvisor and the Allergy Travels Facebook Group. I love traveling. It really recharges my battery. I feel so much more refreshed and ready to work after enjoying life to the fullest when traveling. I’m a really easy-going traveler. I just love new experiences and taking it slow. The world is doable. Even the parts you think are impossible with dietary restrictions. There’s always a way to plan around.

Lisa - traveling with multiple food allergies, celiac disease and asthma

Last year we drove to Italy for the first time, self-catering at a holiday park which we absolutely loved.  We have previously done the same thing many times but always in France. This type of holiday really works for us as we have the freedom to explore and to take everything we need as well as buy our own food from different supermarkets. This year we are researching a similar type of holiday maybe in Croatia or Spain, though this time we are considering flying as we would love to go further afield but the journey by car really took it out of us last year. We know having our Equal Eats cards with us wherever we are going in Europe will really help us when we want to eat out.

Anatolii - traveling with multiple dietary restrictions

I’ve just returned from a four-day snowboarding trip in Austria. I first learnt to snowboard five years ago and I love it! This Summer I will be going to Croatia with my family. We’ll be spending time by the seaside. I’ve been to Croatia many times. It’s one of my favourite countries to visit.

Still new to the area, I am planning on finding all of the nooks and crannies of Ohio this year. I love hiking, walking around local shopping and eateries and I am hoping to find some new favorite places to visit.

Catalin - traveling with celiac disease

As always, I have lots of travel planned for 2025! I typically visit Paris every quarter…it’s one of my favorite cities, and I never get tired of going back. London is another frequent stop, and I’m especially excited to be there in June for the Allergy & Free From Show! In August, I’ll be spending time with my family in the States, which is always a priority during the summer. This year, I’m also adding two new countries to my passport: Portugal and Japan. One of my closest celiac friends has Portuguese roots, so we’ll be visiting her family and enjoying all the amazing gluten-free food Portugal has to offer. Japan, on the other hand, feels a little more challenging for celiac-safe dining, but with the right research and preparation, I know I’ll have a great experience. Since I’m constantly traveling, I rely on the Equal Eats app to communicate my dietary needs in different languages. It’s a game-changer…having instant access to all 52 languages means I don’t have to carry multiple cards in my wallet!

Karina - traveling with multiple food allergies and asthma

Last year we visited Bordeaux in France and the Canary Islands in Spain. This year we are looking to visit two different countries. I’d love to take my children to Denmark, Copenhagen. I’ve traveled a lot round Europe but I’ve never been to any of the Scandinavian countries so this is completely new for me. I’d like to explore this vibrant city by wandering through the cobbled streets, visiting the National Gallery of Denmark and taking a boat trip along the canals of Slotsholmen and Christianshaven. I’m most excited about taking my kids to Tivoli Gardens to show them the beautiful gardens and take them on some of the fun rides! I’m looking into whether we can also fit in a trip to LegoLand Billund while we are in Denmark. As soon as I’ve booked our flights, I’ll be ordering our Equal Eats cards. I like to use the digital download to email restaurants in advance to help find safe meals for my son to eat. I’ll take the plastic cards for our trip. I usually order a few of the same cards and give one to my son. Now he is in Secondary School, he likes to be very involved in ordering his food and has learned to advocate for himself. I am also considering visiting friends in Geneva, Switzerland. I visited Zurich years ago with my best friend but I’ve never been to Geneva before.  I’d really love to visit this beautiful city with my family and discover more about its interesting history.
