Meet Stephanie Wood: Helping Equal Eats Grow in Canada
Watch the interview above to meet Stephanie and hear more about her food allergy journey, her new role with Equal Eats, and what excites her about supporting the Canadian community.
Equal Eats is growing in Canada, and we’re excited to introduce Stephanie Wood, the new head of our Canadian print and ship office.
In a recent conversation with Kyle, Stephanie shared the personal experiences that brought her to the food allergy community, what she has learned as the parent of a child with food allergies, and why the mission behind Equal Eats resonates so strongly with her.
A Personal Connection to the Food Allergy Community
Stephanie’s connection to food allergies began when her daughter was diagnosed with peanut and tree nut allergies.
Like many parents, she suddenly had to learn how to navigate ingredient labels, restaurants, travel, and everyday situations with a new level of awareness. One thing that made a major difference was discovering how supportive the food allergy community could be.
That experience has stayed with Stephanie. Now, through her work with Equal Eats, she has an opportunity to give back to a community that helped her family during those early years.
Making Travel and Dining Easier
Travel can be one of the most challenging parts of living with food allergies, especially when language barriers are involved.
During the interview, Stephanie reflected on her family’s experiences traveling with allergies and the importance of being able to communicate dietary needs clearly. It’s also one of the reasons she is excited about helping more Canadians access Equal Eats allergy translation cards.
From orders in multiple languages to cards being shipped to customers across the country, Stephanie has already enjoyed seeing how differently people use Equal Eats depending on where they are headed and what they need to communicate.
For her, every order represents someone preparing to navigate food a little more confidently.
Growing Equal Eats in Canada
Stephanie is now managing Canadian printing and shipping, helping Equal Eats serve Canadian customers more efficiently from within Canada.
The team is also continuing to explore ways to improve the Canadian customer experience, including expanded shipping options, new e-commerce channels, and opportunities to make international fulfillment from Canada easier.
Having a dedicated Canadian operation is an important step toward making Equal Eats more accessible while building an even stronger connection with Canada’s food allergy community.
More Than an Operations Role
While Stephanie is responsible for getting cards printed, packed, and shipped, her connection to Equal Eats goes well beyond logistics.
She understands firsthand the planning and trust involved when someone with food allergies eats at a restaurant or travels somewhere unfamiliar. That perspective is invaluable as Equal Eats continues building tools designed around the real experiences of people managing allergies and dietary restrictions.
It also means there’s a person behind the Canadian operation who genuinely understands why each order matters.
Welcome to Equal Eats, Stephanie!
We’re thrilled to have Stephanie helping lead the next chapter of Equal Eats in Canada.
Her personal experience, enthusiasm for travel, and connection to the food allergy community make her a natural fit for the mission—and we’re excited for more Canadian customers to get to know her.
